March update

Numbers

Started the month at 178, shooting for 174. Ended the month at 174!

BJJ, musculation: weekly consistency, as intended.

Reflections

Weight loss is definitely slowing down at this level of body fat but does still seem to be happening. I want to get down nice and low and try to stay there for a while, but I’m not in any terrible hurry to arrive.

My leanness, muscularity, and BJJ practice are starting to become pretty automatic, background processes that don’t take as much focus and energy. That’s what I’ve been shooting for for a while. I still want to keep track of them here, but I think I’m finally getting to the point where I can start deliberately layering other things on top of them when I want to.

I forgot to give an update on my AI learning habit last month, but it has been going really well. I feel like I have learned so much, so much about politics and law and especially economics. I’m not being as disciplined about this, but I’m easily hitting my goal of having an informative chat at least once a week.

I’m thinking I might want to try a BJJ competition this summer. Maybe I’ll make the request as a Father’s Day present (just like my first BJJ class last year at my gym was a Father’s Day present). I haven’t run the idea by my wife yet but if she’s good with it I think that would be a cool way to start year two of my BJJ journey. Hopefully I’ll be in the weight bracket below what I’m at now by then! That would be cool.

Predictions

Ended the month at about 174. I think I will be less ambitious this month, since I’m getting close to my lowest ever adult weight again, and probably am already at my lowest ever adult body fat level. And Easter’s coming too. And my wife’s spring break, which makes it harder to keep my calories as low as I’d like. So I think I’ll shoot for 172 lbs by the end of April. We’ll see what happens!

BJJ and musculation: just planning to keep being consistent every week again this next month, as usual.

Hm. I think I want to try adding in weekly burpees this month, actually. I’ll check back in next month and let you know how that goes.
